Hi, I'm Deira. A Mexican living in the Czech Republic, I love macramé and other similar techniques that work with fibers.

I taught macramé in various countries, both private classes and open workshops.

I am a decoration and interior design fanatic. That's why I'm always looking for new inspiration and ideas.



I started with Tepetl after returning from a long trip to South America.



I was in Argentina when I had my first real encounter with macramé. I am a bit nomadic sometimes.

I started participating in design markets and giving workshops in Mexico. Now I do the same in Prague, Czech Republic, where I moved two years ago.

And of course I continue to create new pieces of my beloved art that I am sharing right here.

Process


Macramé production is for me like meditation and I always leave a piece of my heart in all of my creations.

I find inspiration mostly in Mexican crafts, embroideries and patterns as well as in nature and simple things I see around me.

• 𝚂𝚞𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎 𝚌𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜 •

It is really important for me to create and brighten up your spaces with my pieces, but it is just as important to do it in the most conscious, sustainable and ethical way possible.

I always try to use as much as possible of recycled fibers, that I rescue from second-hand markets, or further work with material that remains after finishing some other pieces. At the same time I am working with natural materials and local products wherever and whenever possible.

It is a path that is not always easy. However, I chose to follow it and and it means a lot to me and my business's mission.
